Friend or Foe?

Th lanceman tugged futily at his spear, yet the vampire held onto it tightly, growing impatient he swung at her head with his shield, as the second rider squated, aiming at the womans feet in a sweeping motion of his lance.

Mai jumped backwards, leaving a mark on the snowy floor.
"You know what i really hate about this place?"
She aimed her gun,at the wings of the rider's beast.
"The people here, guards, are worse than Zombies, and-"
Shooting almost wildly, anger and hate filling in her eyes
"The place you dragged me out of reminded me too much of home!"

"I can sense your deceit."
Theo quickly dove down and went onto his back. He put his feet up and launched himself with his own arms, aiming toward the mans stomach.

The feral futily tried to avoid the small explosive only to have it explode, severing a wing from his back he fell onto the snow as blood turned the snowy blanket crimson. Screams like glass shattering filled the air as the creature writhed on the ground. The rider angered at the injury of his winged ally, slashed at Mai with a vertical strike moments before she landed on the ground.

Rufus' shield missed the blow by inches as Theos' kick sent the emperor backwards the wind knocked out of him, but taking advantage of Theos' position the king turned his body sieways, mid fall, stabbing at Theos' vulnerable stomach.

She let out a sigh and brought her left arm up to block the shield, not noticing the lance coming from the side of her.
She used the strength she had to pull the lance she was holding onto, dragging the rider off his beast. She threw the lance over her shoulder and let a smirk run over her lips, but it was quickly wiped away.
Rose felt something sweep her off her feet and her body hit the ground with a thud. She wasn't in pain, well, much that is. She looked up quickly and let words slip out of her mouth, "Rose... you will not lose..."
She could feel the anger rising in her own voice.
"This is just the beginning..."

Theo saw the attack coming, and let it stab him. Somehow, Theo was able to get back on his feet. The wound wasnt very deep; his body was as hard as hard as steel. He grabbed the lance with one hand, lifting the man up, and twirled it around. Using both hands he attempted to smash them into the ground.

Rufus, caught off gaurd by the sheer strength off the man, managed to let go as theo slammed the lance into the ground. He Spun, drawing his sword, he thrusted at Theos' back.

Meanwhile, the pair of riders began overwhelming the grounded woman. The riders Feral pinned her to the ground with his claws as the rider thruted at her throat. While the second rider jumped on to the back of his mount taking off into the air, readying and airial assault.

Dodging to move behind the solider, Mai grabbed out a second, this time a small Handgun and held it to the back of his head.
"I also hate it when someone tries to kill me."
Spinning around and dropping both guns so her hands planted on the ground, She aimed a kick at the back of the guard.

Rose let out a snarl of fury as she was pinned to the ground. She bent her legs and put them up against the Feral's stomach, pushing as hard as she could to throw it off her. The Feral flew up and into the rider in the air after hitting the other man barely. Quickly she jumped up and onto her feet while she could, not even tired. She skid back with a soft groan, cracking her neck from left to right.
"This is too easy..." She mumbled and brought her fists in front of her.

*jumping off. NO KILLING MEH! XD*

Theo dropped the lance, only to dodge it fast enough to only let the sword make a small cut into his neck.
A sweat bead trickled from his head. Need... something to eat... I'm getting tired.
He stood in a casting stance, mana flowing out so greatly. A spell circle that glowed a bright green grew beneath his feet. A strong aura shield protected him during his lengthy casting.

Hopefully he will not be able to break my protection...

Rufus smirked.
"Ahhh a magical barrier, now one could argue that that is unfair. But then again....this was never a fair fight." Rufus whistled as Keyotan barralled into Theo from behind, pinning him to the earth with powerful talons. Rufus strolled over to the incapacitated knight. Kneeling he pressed his sword to Theos throat.
Rufus surveyed the battlefield. Only one rider was left standing, one had been crushed between the ferals as they fell from the sky, the other was unconscious at Mai's feet. All the ferals, save Keyotan were to injured to fight.
Rufus adressed the remaining combatents, ice in his words.
"If you wish for the boy to live surrender. If not," the sword bit tighter into Theos' neck, "we can test the strength of the barrier he has erected. The decision is yours..."

Mai stood and stared, thinking for a moment.
he saved my life...though...going back isnt the best way to repay him...
Picking up both guns and putting them back in her bag, she sighed and tried to smile as she looked at Theo.
"Ill come with you Rufus, let me rot in the dungeon, or better yet, control your army?"
She held both of her hands up "ill go peacefully."
Dont...want him to die, simple thing to think right?

Theo looked up in disbelief. "N-no don't just give yourself to him!"
He gave a hateful look upon the man. He can feel his cruelness ebbing from him. "You're despicable."
Using his free arm, he grabbed the sword at his throat and pushed it away, even though his hands were bleeding.
"... just at least let the vampire girl live. You can let me die in the deepest pit of hell for all I care, just let her go." He slipped a bit out of the creatures hold. "But know this, I will NEVER serve you..."

"dont say that."
Mai stared at Theo, anger in her eyes "You say its wrong for me to just go...but you go killing yourself off idiot!"
She smiled again and looked at Rufus "Just let them go...its obvious he doesnt want to, but i surely will, so let them both stay, i assure you, they'll change there minds eventually."
"...now look at what i had to say, you better live."

"Hmph you made a wise choice." Rufus said smiling, he gave a small nudge of his head as the remaing rider punched Mai in the temple, catching her unconscious body as she collapsed. He removed her bag and secured her hands in rope.
"Rufus glanced down at Theo's rebellious eyes, staring into them with his chilling black ones.
"You are far to kind for your own good. One day you'll end up with a blade in your back." He secured Theos hands with chain drawing him from under the beast, and tossing him onto Keyotans back. The rider also secured Mai to the beast.
"You girl," Rufus said, drawing the vampires attention, "I have no use for you at the moment, your free to go as you please. But dont be foolish if you try to attack me, both the boy and the girl will die." Rufus mounted Keyotan, checking Theo in the head with the pommal of his sword, knocking him unconscious as well. The beast strained to get off the ground, but eventually took flight towards the castle...

*OOC-Hope I wasnt God-modding, grace and tierney both gave up and they needed to go to the castle, so again I hope everyones OK with this*

Before Rufus headed towards the castle he turned heading towards an empty field just outside of town. There he pushe Theo off of Keyotan's back.
"Thank the girl for your freedom knave." Rufus spat at the unconscious body before turning back en route towards the castle.

(no time to write: Have to go sleep. IM IN A FIELD. What should i do ._.)

Rose remembered the sickening voice of that man, how she was ready to fight and knock that one soldier down on his knees, the voices of the two children she was fighting with.
She wanted to finish it.
I have no use for you at the moment, your free to go as you please. But don't be foolish if you try to attack me, both the boy and the girl will die. His words ran in her head, over-and-over.
But sadly. I don't even know them. The voice in her head was laughing but she felt a sad vibe coming from it. Another time, Rose... Another time...

She was sitting on a rock outside Solace, letting her eyes run over the strains of grass in front of her. She's been sitting here for the last few hours, after that man took the two away.
Did she feel regret for not killing the last soldier when she could've? Did she want to go back into time and just jump at the main man. No... No. It would be immature for her age, she knew better.
She touched her temples with her thumb and index finger, letting another sigh escape her lips. She got off the rock and turned to take another look at Solace, her eyes narrowing with rage.

Theo sat up in a groggy daze. Still feeling the pain of that hit, he rubbed his head. "Gr... so close... if that creature didnt destroy my aura shield, I could have finished my spell..."
He got on his knees and pounded his fist into the cold snow. "I was so tired... If I had some rest... no, thats no excuse. I failed to keep the two others safe." He closed his eyes. "I'm sorry... I guess I'm not as strong as I thought I was... hehe, reminds me of my last journey."
He paused.
"I hope you two can forgive me for my carelessness." He sighed. "This is why Joshua always comes up with the plans."
He sat down again. A tear ran down his cheek, only to be abruptly wiped away.

"Crying is not a weakness..."
"Yeah I know that..." he said to himself. Then he chuckled. "But it's still embarrassing."
Saddened, he fell back into the snow. He whispered a small incantation and then whistled an airy melody.
A loud chirping could be heard from far away. Theo held out his arm as a small sparrow perched onto his finger. Sitting up again, he stroked the birds back. "Hello my friend. Will you please guide me to brighter lands?"
The sparrow chirped once, the ascended westward, toward the forest where Theo first came from.
Theo got up onto his feet. "I just really want to go home..." He looked back at the city of Ragalia. "But I can't leave Mai there, even though I bet she knows what she's doing." He turned back toward his destination. He took in a deep breath, and exhaled. "I guess I'm not leaving anytime soon."
He grabbed a pouch, filled with dried meat and fruit. Only in emergencies... and this is one. He grabbed a piece of jerky and chewed as he followed the little bird into the west.

(OT: oh yes frosty its totally fine . You do control the main bad guy after all >_>.)

Rose let out a loud groan, bored out of her mind like she has been for the last 27 years. Nothing has been special, nothing has been exciting, and that's what she wanted. Something exciting, something fun. Though she might have thought that the battle earlier was starting to become fun, she never really actually said it was fun.
She let her mind go through and remember what happened during the battle, so then she was ready for the next time she encountered them.
They use both the weapons and shields as weapons... I need to remember that... She continued to walk for minutes and maybe hours on end.
Her feet had felt the ground become no longer grassy, but snowy.
UGH! I hate the snow! She thought with a huge snarl, kicking the ground as she stopped walking, turning to look back behind her again.
I need to stop this stupid little habit...
